Hans J. Pfaff started the company in 1964 out of a desire to provide the best customer service experience in the industry. He set the bar extremely high, and today we continue to strive for that bar each and every day through every customer interaction.

1964

Hans J. Pfaff, who worked at a Volkswagen dealership in Toronto, convinces Volkswagen to give him a franchise, and opens his first dealership in Newmarket, Ontario. The store quickly gains a reputation for excellent customer service.

1966

Pfaff adds Porsche to its offerings. The dealership quickly gains a reputation among driving enthusiasts for its passion for performance and racing.

1972

Pfaff expands to include Audi, its third brand operating out of a single location on Yonge St. in Newmarket. Pfaff’s reputation for service draws customers from all over the greater Toronto area.

1997

Pfaff Autoworks is established – a manufacture-certified repair facility that gives the group’s customers a trustworthy, approved way to repair their vehicles after a collision.

2003

Pfaff Leasing is established. Pfaff customers now have the ability to lease any vehicle, of any age, from any brand – mainstream, luxury, exotic, collector, or vintage. Pfaff Leasing also offers services for commercial clients.

2004

Pfaff Tuning opens, giving drivers of performance and luxury automobiles unprecedented abilities to further customize and personalize their vehicles.

2006

Pfaff Tuning opens, giving drivers of performance and luxury automobiles unprecedented abilities to further customize and personalize their vehicles.

2012

Pfaff expands west with a new Pfaff Leasing office in Vancouver. It adds the McLaren brand to its growing portfolio, securing its positioning at the top of the automotive market. McLaren Toronto opens.

2014

Pfaff also becomes the Canadian representative for Pagani, an Italian/German hypercar.The McLaren brand expands with a new showroom and service facility in Vancouver.Pfaff adds the BMW brand to its enthusiast-oriented offering, with a dealership in Mississauga.

2015

Pfaff becomes the official Canadian partner for Singer Vehicle Design, the world’s premier restorer and customizer of air-cooled Porsche vehicles. Based in California, Singer re-makes a standard 964-generation Porsche into a carbon-bodied work of art.

2016

Pfaff expands into motorcycles with the acquisition of the Harley-Davidson brand in Richmond Hill.Assumed ownership of London City Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram.Assumed ownership of Pfaff Mazda.

2017

Pfaff expands its BMW footprint with the acquisition of Town+Country BMW, now known as BMW Markham, Ontario’s largest-volume BMW dealership, in Markham. Customers from around the GTA now have options in both the east and west for BMW sales and service. Mini Markham also joins the group’s offering of brands.

2018

Pfaff Motorsports and driver Scott Hargrove finished their first year in the Pirelli World Challenge series by winning the GT Sprint class championship. The first time in series history a rookie team has won the championship’s top class. The #96 Castrol-Pfaff Motorsports 911 GT3 R was also the top Porsche in the series’ overall standings.

2019

Pfaff Subaru, the first Pfaff dealership fully built around the company’s next-generation customer experience. Pfaff Subaru customers enjoy a comfortable, negotiation-free experience with non-commissioned salespeople and a single point of contact throughout the sales process.

2020

Pfaff rolls out online selling at six dealerships, and introduces a new single-point-of-contact sales experience at seven dealerships, further streamlining the vehicle purchase process to make it faster, easier, and more transparent. Porsche Now Markham, a new Porsche retail concept, opens at CF Markville mall. Pfaff Motorsports wins the Canadian Touring Car Championship with an Audi RS3 TCR.

2021

Porsche Centre Markham, Canada’s first luxury car dealership fully integrated on the site of a regional shopping mall, opens at CF Markville Mall. It features full pedestrian access, enabling mall visitors unprecedented, and convenient, access to the world of Porsche vehicles and experiences.
