Portraits of Giving event at Upper Canada MallApr 14th, 2016
In the 2016 Portraits of Giving program, eleven York Region leaders, renowned for giving back to the community, are recognized for their efforts. The program kicked off last night at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket with the opening gala reception.
Honourees for the program were selected from throughout York Region. They include East Gwillimbury resident and former York Region Media Group publisher Ian Proudfoot, Joe D’Addario from the Newmarket Chamber of Commerce, Michael Rathke from Aurora, the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce’s Melanie Delicato, Elsa-Ann Pickard from King Township, Alan Bell from Markham, and Nikki Pett from Georgina.
The program introduced two new categories, York Regional Police and Young Adult. Organizers Karen Merk, photographer, and Melanie Teague tell the honourees’ tale through stories and portraits. The exhibit tours throughout York Region, and the proceeds benefit local hospitals.
H.J. Pfaff Audi is proud to be associated with Portraits of Giving, which is now in its seventh year. Our dealership received a sponsorship award to begin the night, and we gave away the use of an Audi TT for the weekend at the end of the night, and were also interviewed on Rogers Cable.
