This pre-owned FJ Cruiser is ready for your weekendsMay 7th, 2015
We don’t see FJ Cruisers very often at Hallmark Toyota. And for good reason: this Tonka-toy offroader, built by Toyota to pay tribute to the original FJ40 Land Cruiser, is a design icon, built in small numbers and bought by a rabid group of fans. The FJ Cruiser was built on running gear and chassis elements designed for true off-road competence, with a selectable low range gearbox, a torquey six-cylinder engine, and in this case, a tough five-speed automatic transmission. Long-travel suspension, off-road tires, and underbody cladding completed the off-road look.
Because of the FJ’s short lifespan, and its popularity with its owners, they rarely come on the pre-owned car market, so this particular example is a great find. It’ll feel right at home riding trails and crossing streams, going to places you never thought you could go – or just cruising through the carpool lane.
With two regular front doors and two half-sized rear-hinged doors, you’ll love the FJ’s 60/40 split-folding rear seat, water-resistant upholstery and heavy-duty flooring. Bluetooth phone/audio connectivity, satellite radio, and iPod/USB audio interface keep you plugged in to reality.
