MISSISSAUGA, February 1, 2011 – Hot on the heels of a record 2010 calendar year, Porsche Cars Canada (PCL), importer and distributor of Porsche vehicles in Canada, launched spectacularly into 2011, with total sales of 143 units, up 52% from January 2010’s total of 94 and besting the previous record of 123, set in 2008. The record number was led by the new Cayenne, which more than doubled January’s sales of the previous model. Thanks in part to a widely-publicized price reduction announced at the beginning of the month, sales of entry-level Boxster and Cayman sports cars grew during January as well. Certified Pre-Owned sales also hit a new record in January; 40 units sold eclipsed the previous January record of 37, set last year, and marked the 15th straight month of record CPO sales.
