Toyota earned the top spot in Interbrand’s 2011 ranking of the “Best Global Green Brands,” the New York-based brand consultancy company announced today. Toyota ranked first on the list of the top 50 brands, based on consumer and expert evaluations, for its efforts to achieve a sustainable society and the success of the Prius hybrid vehicle.
3M ranked 2nd followed by Siemens, Johnson & Johnson and Hewlett-Packard. Rounding out the top 10, Volkswagen was 6th, Honda was 7th, followed by Dell, Cisco and Panasonic. Other automakers on the list were Hyundai, 11th; BMW, 12th; Mercedes Benz, 16th; and Ford, 20th.
